A smiling couple stands in front of a house.

Residents of the cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Issaquah, and Sammamish can take advantage of thousands in rebates and incentives on a new heat pump. These savings help you switch to an energy-efficient system that heats and cools your home while lowering your energy bills. Let’s help you find out how much you can save!

The Energy Smart Eastside heat pump rebate program is jointly funded and managed by the cities of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond and Sammamish to support households in those communities in installing energy efficient heat pumps to reduce their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy Smart Eastside offers a $1000 heat pump rebate to homeowners within the city limits of the participating cities and are implementing a qualified heat pump through an in-network installer, and a $5000 Bonus Heat Pump Rebate to homeowners who meet additional income eligibility requirements. Rebates are applied by the installer as an after-tax discount on the quote. All Energy Smart Eastside rebates can be stacked with applicable Puget Sound Energy rebates.

Find your rebates & incentives in just 3 steps!

The applicant must own an existing home within the city limits of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, or Sammamish.  New construction is not eligible.

The installed heat pump is on the Energy Smart Eastside qualified products list and was installed by an in-network installer participating in the Mitsubishi or Bryant/Carrier rebate programs with Energy Smart Eastside.

$1000 rebate may be applied to ducted electric heat pumps, ducted hybrid heat pumps, or ductless heat pumps

$5000 bonus rebate may be applied to ducted electric heat pumps or ductless heat pumps. Hybrid heat pumps are not eligible.

The heat pump is sized to meet the heating needs of the entire home. No single head ductless systems are eligible unless a load calculation is provided by the contractor demonstrating the heat pump meets the heating needs of the entire home.

In the case of ductless heat pump systems, the installer will disconnect power to wall cadet or baseboard heating in rooms where ductless heat pump heads are installed. In the case of a ducted heat pump system, the contractor will remove the previously existing electric or gas furnace.

To be eligible for the bonus rebate, the applicant attests that the combined income of all members of the household is under 150% area median income.  Income thresholds are established using the King County Median Income from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The current income eligible chart is as follows:
