Why heat pumps? We can explain.

  • Heat pumps are fully electric, highly energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. They also have a bunch of other cool functions, including air purification and dehumidifying.

  • Heat pumps work by transferring heat to exactly where you need it. In winter, heat pumps pull air from outside across refrigerant lines, and compress it – creating heat that is then transferred into your home. In the summer, they work in reverse, pulling hot air from inside of your house and dumping it outside to keep you cool. The mechanics are exactly the same as your refrigerator.

That’s the high level, but if you want to dive deep into the nuts and bolts, check out this video.

  • It’s a common myth that heat pumps don’t work under extreme cold conditions. In fact, under cold weather conditions, heat pumps perform more efficiently than traditional fossil fuel and electric-resistance heating systems. They are a reliable choice for keeping you comfortable in your home from the coldest to the hottest days in the Pacific Northwest.
