How to Participate

To get a quote for a heat pump using the $1,000 Energy Smart Eastside rebates, we recommend contacting an installer in our network. This is an instant rebate—meaning installers will apply this rebate at the point of sale.

To find out if you are eligible for the Bonus $5,000 rebate, submit an application. We’ll reply within one business day. If eligible, you’ll be provided a rebate code that can be used with any installer in our network for up to 90 days. This rebate is also applied at the point of sale with an installer.

Rebates are available for qualifying heat pump systems that meet program requirements and are installed by approved contractors.

Energy Smart Eastside rebates can also be stacked with various incentives from Puget Sound Energy, which can total up to $4,600 in additional rebates.

Schedule a call with one of our energy advisors to better understand what additional rebates you might qualify for.

  • Renters cannot apply directly—applications must be submitted by the property owner or their designated agent.

However, renters can still play an important role by sharing information about heat pumps and available rebates with their landlord. You can schedule a call with an energy advisor to get helpful talking points and guidance for discussing heat pumps with your landlord.

  • Heat pumps can lower energy costs, though the savings depend on what system you’re replacing.

If you’re replacing a gas furnace, you can typically expect modest heating savings of around 10–15%. However, because a heat pump also provides efficient air conditioning in the summer, many households find their overall energy spending stays about the same while gaining year-round comfort.

If you’re replacing electric resistance heating (like baseboards), the savings are much larger—often 50% or more on heating costs. And if you currently rely on portable air conditioners, a heat pump’s high efficiency can reduce cooling-related energy use by roughly 25% or more.

You can find full income and product eligibility requirements in the Program Guidelines.
